Legal services (Colorado and Alaska matters only):

Full Price: generally, legal services will be billed at $300 per hour, in one tenth hour increments (i.e., every six minutes, or portion thereof, costs $30.) 

Sliding Scale: depending on the complexity and duration of matters, can be $175-$275 / hour. You can read more about LIminal Living's philosophy on Sliding Scale pricing here.

Please note that due to ethical rules, these services will be contracted and billed entirely separately from all other services. Legal services will generally require a substantial advance payment of fees, which is placed in a trust account to be billed against. Any unearned fees will be returned at the culmination or termination of representation. 

• A separate contract (called an Engagement of Representation) will be required for any legal services provided. 

• Most legal services are provided for matters in Colorado, Alaska, and federal jurisdiction. In some cases multi-jurisdictional practice may be possible by associating with local counsel; however, this will be an uncommon exception: we encourage everyone to identify and retain counsel who is expert in the law and practices of the jurisdiction you are in.  

• Areas of legal specialization include end of life decision making, criminal defense, tenant / landlord law, contract, and consumer protection. Similar to our coaching services, we also practice law in the area of "hard conversations." 

• We generally do not practice estate planning, including wills, trusts, probate, and estate administration. There are thousands of ethical, competent attorneys who practice in these areas in every state. We'll be happy to try to help refer you to known attorneys who practice in your state. 

• We'll gladly accept your workplace / union legal services benefit if we can possibly work it out! 

• Flat fee rates are rare due to the unpredictability of how legal matters may proceed.

• We do not offer any contingency based legal services.
